The Yield, Fruit Quality and Some of Nutraceutical Characteristics of Saskatoon Berries (Amelanchier alnifolia Nutt.) in the Conditions of Eastern Poland

The Saskatoon berry (Amelanchier alnifolia Nutt.) is a prospective and increasingly popular species in Poland. Its main attributes are extremely valuable fruits, rich anthocyanins with high antioxidant activity, which very processing. Studies aimed at comparing the suitability for cultivation under climatic soil conditions of east Poland three Canadian cultivars (‘Honeywood’, ‘Martin’ ‘Pembina’), were conducted Warsaw University Life Sciences 2017–2018. study evaluated parameters such as yield fruit quality, well health-promoting value fruit. These studies revealed significant differences between studied cultivars, both physicochemical properties, i.e., mass diameter, firmness, soluble solids content, terms content anthocyanins, flavonoids, polyphenols. also found years, may indicate that abovementioned compounds influenced by annual conditions.
